‘Life is a surprise’ I had this tagline as my email id for one of the networking websites!
But now after reaching the quarter life, I can actually understand why is it called like that!
Iguana inspite of being beautiful can never be a chameleon but then they still are happy that they belong to the same breed and someday they might change the fate and fight the norms of the life…
India, the only country believing in arrange marriage and actually practicing it, has driven every generation of youth to go through this madness. Even today, I actually know people who willing stand on the edge of this sword and are willing to sacrifice their lives over it! I understand the gyaan on customs and everything but what’s with not having the freedom to choose their own partner… Someone with whom you would want to share a life with…
CASTE! This word actually has the power to trigger World War III more than Nostradamus ka prediction on Barack Obama triggering the war. Instantly you think why the word caste? Well this arrange marriage system is still prevailing in India only coz of that… Otherwise every third person falling in love would not think that is she Gujarati or Marathi? Why do you have to think this? The other person is someone whom you like… whose thinking you would prefer… someone who you feel for whom you would be awake the whole night!
It’s just a question but if this question has stalled so many lives!
Surprise is that when you love someone irrespective of him/her being from some other caste but later after understanding ‘dunyadaari’, feelings are overpowered by customs and strategized emotions! Life has surprised us by changing our line of thought to follow the path like a blind horse!

1stly get your facts right, India is not the only country where arrange marriage is practiced. Yes its practiced in countries that are considered underdeveloped. But I would call them countries that are rich in culture.
I liked your writing style, but the message was unclear till the end. You are not allowed to spend your life with someone you love because of caste??? Thats not India you and me live in, dont fool us and yourself. Just imagine the pressure the people in US go through who have reached their 30s and yet havent found Mr/Ms right. Atleast we have the society to help us with that... Lets discuss
I agree thaere are pros and cons... But I would say there shouldn't be pressure in the name of society just because society is helping us! and apologies I was unaware that other countries practise arrange marriages!
Hey,
My friend once told me that arranged marriages are good. I was in love that time and I retaliated.
He counter argued that the following:
If u do and arranged marriage, all the nakhra of ur spouse will be handled by ur family, luv marriage means all that is on u...
this was just on the lighter note..
sorry fr the mistakes....
galti se mishtake ho gaya...
but the topic had enuf adrenaline to excite...
